Blythswood Square Hotel
Structural replacement of defective stone entrance columns and capital heads at a Category A-listed five-star hotel that remained open throughout the works.
The challenge
Fractured and defective stone columns and capital heads required structural replacement on the principal elevation of a Category A-listed five-star hotel that remained in operation.
Restorex delivery
Restorex installed the necessary scaffold and structural propping, then removed and replaced the defective stone columns and capital heads while protecting the adjoining façade and maintaining access around the trading hotel.
Outcome
The masonry package was completed to the agreed programme, restoring the entrance stonework with minimal disruption to hotel operations.
