East Crosscauseway

Detailed architectural stone replacement, combining workshop carving with precise scaffold-level installation on an ornamented historic sandstone façade.

Project overview

The challenge

The surviving photographs show a highly ornamented historic sandstone elevation requiring close control of carved profiles, replacement masonry and installation at scaffold level.

Restorex delivery

Restorex masons formed and installed detailed replacement stonework, including enriched floral and ribbon carving, moulded architectural units and dressed ashlar repairs. Workshop fabrication and on-site finishing were coordinated so the new pieces aligned with the surviving façade geometry.

Outcome

The completed masonry reinstates the elevation’s distinctive sculptural character and demonstrates the link between measured workshop craft and precise installation on the building.
