St James the Less Church
Stone, slate, leadwork and drainage repairs to a traditional Edinburgh church, including the sourcing and installation of large-format roof slates.
The challenge
The church required coordinated roof and masonry conservation, including the sourcing of unusually large slates suitable for the existing roof character.
Restorex delivery
For St James the Less Church and Gray Marshall Architects, Restorex undertook scaffold access, stone replacement, lime repointing and descaling, slate-roof renewal, architectural leadwork and ground-drainage improvements.
Outcome
The programme was completed successfully, renewing the principal weathering elements while retaining the church’s distinctive traditional roof and stone elevations.
