Restorex expertise

Turning a complex shared repair into a conservation-led construction programme

Shared repairs require owners, property factors, professional advisers, funders and contractors to work from one clear scope. Restorex has worked with Edinburgh World Heritage on numerous grant-funded sites and understands the care, evidence and coordination expected when public conservation funding supports a historic building project.

Restorex’s directly relevant work includes traditional stone repair and replacement, lime pointing and lime finishes, natural slating, leadwork, chimneys, gutters and downpipes, conservation joinery and the reinstatement of architectural details. These trades can be coordinated through one accountable external-envelope programme using traditional materials and methods appropriate to the building.

Grant eligibility, funding levels and approvals are determined by Edinburgh World Heritage and the relevant professional and statutory bodies—not by Restorex. Owners should obtain advice before commissioning or starting work. Restorex can then support the appointed team with buildability input, tender information, samples, method statements, opening-up records, cost clarity and careful delivery to the agreed conservation specification.
